This gathering marked the first alumni event in London since 2016, and the turnout was great. There were even some alumni who worked at LDO in the old days when it was at Wigmore Street and Old Broad Street – the longest-tenured attendee was Eugene Wong with 27 years’ service!
In his opening address, our President (Europe) Arjun Gupta acknowledged the incredible contributions of our alumni to GIC’s journey and success. He highlighted the importance of maintaining these relationships, especially as we commemorate the 35th anniversary of LDO in 2025.
The atmosphere was lively and collegial, with great conversations flowing as freely as the drinks and canapés. Attendees enjoyed reconnecting and reminiscing about their time at GIC, celebrating the friendships and experiences that have endured over the years.
Reflecting on the event, Henry Ormond, Head, Private Equity, Europe said: “What a pleasure to see so many old colleagues and friends. The GIC bond remains strong, and it’s gratifying to see our ex-team members achieving success across so many different paths.”
